Review on ๐Ÿ”’ 5-Pack - Easy to Hold - Effortlessly Pick with Tongs - Glass Fermentation Weights with Handles for Wide Mouth Mason Jars by Unique Mayeaux

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Great simple and effective design.

I'm new to fermentation but have done a lot of research on airlocks and using glass weights etc so I bought 3 different glass weights (and 3 different airlocks). These are by far the best weights of the three I've bought (I buy these, some from "Nourished Essentials" and some from "Galahome" which were part of a fermentation kit with a different lock design that I wanted to try ). Of the three, these have the simplest construction, and the brine can (and will) be released back into the jar without hitting the weight itself when your veggies (sauerkraut and kimchi in my case) are gassing and rising. The "flex" on the handle helps a lot in an emergency when fighting (I use gloves because I'm paranoid) but with other weights it will be more difficult for you as the sole can get into the grooves and not come out. to the enzyme itself. I check my enzymes every few days, if the veggies get too high I gently push the weight back into the jar and with it the veggies themselves. At that weight the brine was higher than the veggies every time, so that was it Repacking probably unnecessary, but definitely easier. The glass is smooth as described. There are small bubbles in the glass but they remain and only add to the aesthetics and do not detract from the effectiveness of the weights themselves. So far I am very happy with the scales as they are the most effective in all aspects of their purpose. The only downside to these scales is the "1 per customer" limit, not sure why that is, but I will order more if I may.
