I bought this antenna after returning another one that didn't give a good signal for more distant stations. With this antenna and anything smaller than a 31" factory bolt, you can expect some loss of signal strength, but the only time I have problems is when the jeep's body is caught between the antenna and a distant or weak station. The spiral winding also mimics a factory whip winding and is said to reduce wind noise. It also unscrews easily when you take your car to the car wash and has a little thread lock at the base to keep it from coming loose.
