for "my first cross stitch" this set is WITHOUT INSTRUCTIONS. There are no counting instructions to place the first stitch and no useful middle marker or first stitch marker on the fabric. The fabric is more like a hard gauze. The thread is so thick that it took my daughter 30 minutes with a needle threader to successfully thread each color on her own without breaking it. The unusually thick thread also makes it difficult to pierce and re-pierce the same corners on the net and over-expands the holes. The frame is only used to hold the finished product which MUST be cut perfectly. It doesn't hold the fabric and will help you stretch it while actually doing cross stitching. had to be sewn by hand. This is a really difficult task for those who are doing their first cross stitch. 100 Bu. waste of money. Do not buy.
