could have been chosen EDIT: After speaking to the seller/manufacturer they determined that there must have been a quality control issue as the ring had to be welded to the cylinder. They immediately sent me a new filter unit. I set it up and brewed coffee as soon as I received the new filter unit. I am incredibly happy with this product and would highly recommend it to anyone looking to try a cold drink at home. Coffee (black gold) came out incredibly dense and for my taste it takes 1 part coffee to 2 parts water. Throughout the communication with the seller, they sent various ideas on how to dilute condensed milk so that flavor notes are perceived like flavor notes in wine. It was a very personal communication, which I really appreciate. Black gold straight from the carafe is smooth and tasty (I don't usually like black coffee). However, to drink more than the taste, you need to dilute it. I heat diluted black gold to drink like bulletproof coffee. It changes the flavor a bit, but I don't mind. I haven't tried it with ice yet. Be sure to get a penguin because of the high quality and beauty of the device. The carafe is made from durable glass and doesn't seem to break with normal use. If there is something wrong with your order, the customer service is top notch and responsive. Previous 1 star review: I just got it and can't even use it. The top metal ring completely refuses to stay on the filter. 1) The filter was in the shape of a triangle. After a lot of fiddling to get it round again, the ring still pops out as soon as I put it on. 2) To top it off, putting the ring on the screen part is incredibly difficult and the part will knock off. Eventually I managed to get the net under the ring only for the ring to pop back out. Pooh! So disappointed. I will contact the manufacturer to see if this is user error or a bad product. I will update this review when this gets fixed.
