Bought a 50m cable with LC connector for a home project. Everything looked good quality except for the "Y" crimp just before the LC connector. The test went well, but an element must have broken before the installation was complete. I had to run this cable (lubricated) through about 30 feet of 3/4" pipe. All straight edges and only two wide 90 degree bends. Unfortunately, the flexible rubber outer jacket of this armored cable is relatively "tacky" so greasing was needed. I pulled gently and the cable was still fine afterwards. Then I routed the cable around the inside perimeter of my bar built garage to keep it from getting pinched by tools or other stored items. After this simple Laying the cable will no longer transmit light to any of the elements. Since the cable is no longer good for anything (I don't have the means to re-terminate it) I cut it apart so other people can see what's inside. I decided to try again with the more typical yellow patch cord and all worked fine I think this cord is probably pretty good it might not be up to the task thru the lei direction to pull. Would love to try a few more for shorter runs or other non-cane work to see how they hold up. The armor is a kind of steel - almost like stainless steel. This allows for a fairly tight bend - maybe a little too tight, but certainly holds up to other abuses. It would be fun to run some torture tests.
