Quality essential tools for recumbents

Installing an Efneo front wheel drive in a recumbent trike and more than just a flat chain splitter. While doing EDC, the Victorinox Spirit X (bought by Revain last year) thought I might want to get a master link pliers as well, so searching on Revain I found this Oumers set that also included the coveted chain wear tool. Expect to pay only $30 for a quality circuit breaker but get a great package. And I checked against other items on Revain as well as offline reviews before making my choice. I used an Oumers circuit breaker on a KMC X8.99 chain which I also bought with this kit. The connections were a little more stubborn so I found I used a leather glove to get the first hard hit, the rest was easy. What I love about the Oumers circuit breaker is that there is a knob on the shelf to adjust the circuit, something else circuit breakers don't do. And this tool came with an extra nozzle which was an added plus! And wire it up so the ends of the chain don't slip off. (chuckles) Use an extra cable as a backup if you haven't already, or if you have a "helping" friend. (chuckles) For breaking, the hammer is fully adjustable, almost perfectly aligned - it doesn't move at an angle, and the press works great. There were no problems with the Oumers circuit breaker or other tools. Which is a BIG PLUS for me, because things don't always go according to plan. Nothing to worry about here! The Oumers chain wear tool showed me that the previous KMC X72 was still alive, having done about 3000 miles with a near maximum load (475#). That's impressive for a cheap network. This time I chose a chain with more coverage as I ride in all conditions. And for these pliers. Oh, how many times have I used these tongs! They were better than the Spirit X and added and removed the missing links that came with the KMC chain. Although I want to properly assemble the chain without using the main links, I still need some practice. And I have an old chain (which can still be used) to practice with these Oumers bike tools. If you're on a budget and want a quality kit that works without the gimmicks and will help you in the future, get this Oumers. Sentence. Even if you don't use a circuit measurement tool right away, it still costs a few bucks more because you'll need it later. Bonza Tools!
