I've only moved my canoe about 15 miles so far, but I believe I'll be able to safely move the canoe about 350 miles soon (warmer weather likely). ). I will drive 55 miles per hour on a dual carriageway and avoid the interstate system to feel safer. I suspect that foam blocks will not work for many applications, but that's not my plan and new strapless blocks are available at a modest price. My 2012 Chevy Impala couldn't use two front straps because the metal hooks were too big to grip the front engine subframe. Maybe I could bend the hooks to work with my car but I had a few more straps that fit fine. The 18-foot center strap was long enough to wrap around a canoe and a car roof with some extra length (but the Impala is a relatively large car). The included straps seem well made to me (unlike some other reviewers).
