Ideal for small cars.

They fit perfectly in our tiny car (no trunk) and quite large canoe. We made it to the Minneapolis border waters with no problems. The straps may be noisy in the wind, but they keep the canoe secure.

Pros
  • Very good price
Cons
  • No

Bought this product for my son - he loves it!

My son has used this carrier several times with his canoe and loves it. The foam blocks work great and protect the roof from scratches as do the side clips and hooks. It also uses a standard rope that attaches to the bumper on both the rear and front bumpers for more stability.

Pros
  • Good product for the price
Cons
  • Big and bulky

Good idea, bad execution

Smart idea but two straps broke within 2 miles of home. Neither hit any sharp surfaces, both hitting the smooth surface of the car's plastic bumper. I'll stick with the rope in the future. I can't trust those $2500 canoe straps. Sponge Blocks work as advertised but are widely available, often cheaper.

Pros
  • Perfect for outdoor activities

It was perfect. for outdoor recreation

Great set. I made a few permanent adjustments just to fit my car. And it's perfect even at highway speeds. I have a 16ft canoe that I use this on and it's not light haha and the blocks fit and ride great. Fully protects my ride and protects the canoe. I have no doubt that it was the right purchase for me. See you on the rivers.

Pros
  • Great design
Cons
  • Hard to say

Only comes with a 1' to 18' strap, not a 2.

The website says it comes with a 2' to 18' strap with a buckle, but don't believe it. It comes with 1ft to 18ft buckle strap only. I was expecting this second strap to secure my canoe but now I have to either return this item or use another strap that I already have. Things appeared to be of good quality but I am still very disappointed in the lack of a strap which the listing promises.

Pros
  • An absolute legend
Cons
  • Hard to tell

Happy Customer Best of Rooftop Foam Blocks

I've only moved my canoe about 15 miles so far, but I believe I'll be able to safely move the canoe about 350 miles soon (warmer weather likely). ). I will drive 55 miles per hour on a dual carriageway and avoid the interstate system to feel safer. I suspect that foam blocks will not work for many applications, but that's not my plan and new strapless blocks are available at a modest price. My 2012 Chevy Impala couldn't use two front straps because the metal hooks were too big to grip the front

Pros
  • Great Price
Cons
  • Vulgarity
