Review on 4Pcs ME-8108 Adjustable Roller Lever Arm Arduino Momentary Limit Switch NC NO CNC Mill Router For DIY Projects by Mike Rubenstein

Revainrating 1 out of 5

Worst product design I have ever seen.

These switches are rated at 5 amps 250V AC, 0.5A at 115V AC. They are intended for harsh environment(CNC). Out of the package, resistance across the normally closed contacts was a full 15 Ohms. The normally open contact set was variable, fluctuating from 25 to 250 Ohms when activated. The lever arm was bent, the lever arm mounting block was cracked. 2 cover screw threaded holes were already stripped out. The lever arm is made of inferior metal and bends easily. The roller wheel mounting is a pressed stud, so you cant mount the wheel on the underside of the arm. The cover is very thin plastic and tends to crack out when trying to compress the cheap rubber seal. The clearance inside the cover or wiring between the rubber boot and the contact block is minimal. The switch body is a rough casting with heavy paint which affects cover and seal fit. The rubber parts, cover seal and wire boot, are more of a cheap vinyl and wont hold up to U.V. or heat at all. I intended to use this for switching a 24v LED light on a rolling gate opening. I have over 30 years as an electro-mechanical tech in manufacturing and have used this type of switch in numerous applications. This switch isn't fit to be sold. Do not use this for switching 115V of any amperage, its a fire hazard. I am throwing the two I received away and ordering a Honeywell, Square D, or Allen Bradley model.

Pros
  • Exactly what I needed
Cons
  • The roller lever arm is not very adjustable, making it difficult to use for some DIY projects
