Review on 🚗 Metra 99-8205 Pontiac Vibe/Toyota Matrix 03-08 Dash Kit by Antonio Urbina

I'm seeing some conflicting reviews as to whether it really fits and after installation I can say with confidence yes it does 03-05 IF you want to cut the side panels. In any case, it fits from '05 without any modifications. Use wire cutters/side cutters to trim and file to clean. The end result shows no clipping anyway. Other problem areas: The back support has a very narrow adjustment range, so I added a couple of MDF pieces to close the gap and actually support the single DIN unit. The side panels have tabs for the rest of the kit so there are no holes or slots to mount the main unit. You need holes and washers or gaskets to mount the head unit directly (no plug adapter). Most important is a storage pouch that fills the gap with a single DIN main unit: a) very short in height, wasting a lot of space, b) has sharp edges at the opening that need to be sanded down to avoid scratching wallets etc. to avoid., and c) it has HOLES IN THE BOTTOM HARDWARE for things to FALL into the dashboard. WHY? This is easily fixed with tape to block it, but they shouldn't be there. Conclusion: It works, with a little fiddling. The end result is secure, doesn't move or rattle, and looks polished. Recommended, with the caveat that some customization is required. Installation Details: Matrix '03 originally equipped with a 6-disc changer. Same jead block as Moon & Tunes but without a separate amp (does not affect the use of this kit). Pioneer DEH-80PRS installation kit.
