Unreliable, very short battery life, dangerous to trust

I'm disappointed and have to draw attention to the product because you can trust your life with it. After putting in new batteries twice, I found it was dead and it didn't warn me in any way that it was necessary to change the batteries. The 30 day return window has expired so I'm stuck with two useless alerts. Not a good experience, disappointed.
