Review on LaCie 160GB d2 Extreme Hard Drive - USB2.0 and FireWire 400/800 Interfaces (301033U) by Patrick Goodrich

Put simply, this drive failed just after the one-year warranty expired. LaCie will not repair or replace it as the warranty has expired. Their support basically told me they couldn't help me and I had to go and find out what the problem was. I ended up removing the Seagate hard drive and putting it in a new enclosure and it works great. The problem was that the LaCie's case was broken and had literally no moving parts! The product failed without warning and that's when I realized I was in the wasteland of LaCie's customer service. I understand things break, but not having support is ridiculous.
