Review on πŸŽ™οΈ Razer Seiren Mini USB Streaming Microphone: Exceptional Supercardioid Pickup and Professional Recording Quality - Compact Design with Durable Tilting Stand and Shock Resistance - Classic Black by Steve Douglas

Good price but not great sound quality

Seiren X is now about $30 more expensive at Revain. I strongly recommend you spend extra money on this mic, not this one. I already have a Seiren X and use it for my main home streaming setup. I thought it would be great to buy a Seiren mini for its compactness. As soon as I received the goods, I immediately felt the buyer's remorse. Not only do you sacrifice build quality (it's made of durable plastic), but sound quality as well. The microphone needs to be close to the mouth to get a decent sound. I almost had to scream to get a decent sound. At first I thought it was my computer so I plugged in my Seiren X and then Mini. nope It's difficult for the Mini to pick up my voice. And even though this mic is advertised as supercardioid, what you really need to do is speak in a certain direction directly into the mic, straight into it, as if the mic were touching your lips. It is as if the sound pick-up angle is very narrow. This is a major downside for me (call me picky), but the lack of a mute button was a deal breaker. You must mute the audio with the streaming software you use to mute the audio. For at least $50 we could get a mute button. All you get is a microphone and an LED indicator to let you know the device is on. I was so disappointed with the sound quality that I returned this mic and just bought another Seiren X (laughs).
