Review on 15-Foot XiaZ Dog Tie-Out Cable For Outdoor Training And Camping, Suitable For Small To Medium Dogs Up To 120 Pounds – Best Dog Lead For Yard And Outdoor Activities by Jeremy Gaines

Revainrating 2 out of 5

Not for a 45lb husky

I saw all the good reviews and wanted to try this lead out. We have a sturdy tree in the backyard that we looped the cable through itself on and the first few times I went out with my dog to watch and make sure it was good if he was running around (Also, he's only allowed outside 30 minutes at a time, not all day, and yes he goes with us for jogs). Put him on it one morning and went inside to use the bathroom, came back out to him gone with the cable still on his collar but gone from the tree. I figured it was a fluke because the little thing at the top that you can move to keep the connector from opening was pulled down but I thought I had it up and in place around the tree side. Figured maybe I forgot. Later that night, my husband put him out and made sure that little piece was pulled up on the tree side. While he was outside my dog pulled once and it slide down and came undone. Clearly that little piece is not an extra sense of security and the connector can easily come undone considering my 6 year old can pull back my dog when he sees a wild animal running around. I was really hopeful for allowing my dog some run room since we moved from our old house that had a fenced in yard and while he enjoys jogging with us, he just wants to run like a mad man sometimes. Unfortunately we don't have 2 trees close enough to try to use it between them.

Pros
  • Perfect for outdoor training and camping with your furry companion
Cons
  • The cable may not be suitable for use around strong winds or storms
