Review on 10x18 Acurel Infused Media Pads for Aquariums and Ponds by Jessica Green

For several months I cut Accurel Ammonia Reduction Pads to fit my aquarium filter. Before that I had a constant problem with creeping ammonia levels in the aquarium. I have a 5 1/2 gallon aquarium with two armored catfish and four fancy guppies. Since adding Accurel to my filter, there have been no more water balance issues. Ammonia, nitrites and nitrates remain at -0-. The pads themselves are very easy to use. They are easy to cut but quite stiff so they fit into the slots in my filter very easily. I have tried contacting Accurel to find out how long these pads are effective but I believe their customer service department is a myth. I haven't received a reply and there doesn't seem to be a way to speak directly. At the same time, to be on the safe side, I change it once a week. Although their customer service has a zero rating, their inexpensive product is 5 stars and I recommend it.
