Heeding the advice to only buy 100% silicone molds, I ordered this mold to replace a previous set of silicone molds that worked great but were worn out (more on that in a moment). Now I'm going back to metal pans. That's why. The HIC pan has terrible non-stick properties. If batter is even slightly runny or has a lot of fruit in it, expect half of some muffins to stick to the pan and their top halves to come off. Now you can say keep the dough drier and don't put as much fruit in it. But in the pans I've used before, I haven't had this problem. I used to have blue silicone cupcake liners that I bought from Safeway for about $12. I have no idea if they were 100% silicone but they worked great. The problem with them was that they only lasted about 2 years. So, after my experience with silicone pans, I'm now back to quality metal. Something else about the HIC set: The cups are small. A typical recipe calling for 2 cups of flour will end up with excess batter after filling the cups.
