I know better than to expect much from a gauge this cheap, but I've only used it half a dozen times in the last four months , since I received it before it stopped working - the test displays became intermittent and eventually stopped showing readings. So I decided to open it up (two screws and a plastic case held together in a couple of places - not too difficult) and found that the solder joints attaching the test lead sockets to the board had come loose. GOOD NOTE: I have never dropped or abused the unit, but the cheap construction and poor soldering (machine no doubt) led to failure. I decided, however, that I had nothing to lose, and I got hold of a soldering iron so I could solder the loose connectors back onto the PCB, this time using solder on either side of the PCB through-hole, allowing the downward pressure inserting the test leads into their terminals is not pushing against a small solder bead holding them in place as originally manufactured. The unit is now working properly and I expect it will work more reliably for the foreseeable future until another component fails.
