The casts came out so beautifully I almost cried when I took them out of the mold. Keep in mind that the photos show casts straight from the mold and BEFORE any retouching. I'm so lucky to be able to have this reminder of how tiny my son's hands and feet were when he was just a month old. Let me tell you how easy these sets were. We did both arms and both legs one after the other and he was already awake screaming for the second cast and we still did everything and they came out almost perfect. I would definitely suggest warming up with water, we tried to make the first cast a little colder so we had a little more time and the cold and the length we had to hold it in the mold made him so angry that he kicked his foot when it was hard and the tips of his toes looked flat because of it. Luckily the cute little soles came out perfectly and the kits were so forgiving I didn't care. Warmer water = more comfortable temperature for baby and less time to get in perfect shape. (One of us held him up straight and gave him a bottle to distract him while the other person stuck his leg or arm into the modeling material). All I know is that I will definitely be using these sets again when he is a year old. Be careful, the powder will blow up if you throw it away. Cut the sachets open at the top, don't rip them apart like we did (powder. everywhere.) and use a large mixing bowl first, then add to the bowl you'll be using the patch on. We tried mixing it right in the container that came with the kit and again the powder is scattered all over the place. We only used large dishes. Good luck and have fun! It's worth the price.
