Synchronization between master and slave for all settings must be done over a wireless transport network, which means the devices must be close enough for wireless communication. . A wired connection is for internet speed only, not for syncing between devices. It took me a while to figure this out as I started connecting to a slave in my garage that the base station can't reach (the whole reason I need a mesh system and wired inter-building communication). Your setup instructions say nothing. about that. Even if you set up your master for your Wi-Fi SSID and password (the first thing it does when you log in via 192.168.0.1) before connecting the slave, the factory sync doesn't work and you have to press WPS . on the back of each device to pair again. Smart connectivity system to switch between 5G and 2.4G connection for devices forced to switch to 2.4G when device is within 5ft from router. For a slave I never got 5G even with my phone on the device. The online tech support chat on the manufacturer's website never contacted anyone and they didn't reply to me via text or email, just automated messages. The tech support email got to me within a reasonable time but didn't offer any viable resolutions. They suggested turning off Smart Connect and having 2 SSIDs, one for 2.4g and one for 5g, and only connecting to the network I wanted for each device. Which basically says their software just doesn't work. But anyway since my slave was out of range of the master my whole network was broken as soon as I made changes to test it. I am returning it and I do not recommend anyone to buy it.
