Review on ๐Ÿ”ช Optimized 5-Piece Old Hickory Knife Set 705 by Ontario Knife Co. by Adam Gerome

This is the best knife set you will find for less than $100.

The only problem I've had is the paring knife which I can't seem to sharpen properly no matter how hard I try. I'm no newbie to sharpening knives and tools and have managed to putting a razor blade on top of all the other blades in this set this is the best set of knives you will find for less than $100 rusting on these knives is NOT a defect for those new to carbon knives they rust easily when they are not cared for properly. They must be washed immediately after each use. Do not even wait until dinner is served. Clean them with hot soapy water, then immediately wipe dry and store dry. Do not store with semi-wet dishes .Even that small amount of moisture will stain rust.I soaked mine in apple cider vinegar overnight and removed the lid from a tall, narrow, cheap plastic bucket water bottle cut off. Carefully insert the knife into the bottle, point down. Fill the bottle to the handle of each blade, you can reuse the same bottle, and start with the shortest blade and remove it after soaking for 6 or more hours. Then insert the next longest knife and fill again up to the handle. If you overfill the handle, the handle will absorb the vinegar and become discolored. Once these blades are taken out of the soak, they turn almost black. Clean with soap and a sponge you don't plan to reuse, rubbing until the color stops changing. Apply a generous coat of olive oil to the wooden handles after they have dried from washing. If you need extra protection for your blades after a particularly thorough use, clean and take some warm and soft coconut oil and rub it into your blades. Coconut oil hardly spoils, and the thin coating prevents moisture from building up if you hang your knives on a wall-mounted magnetic stick like I did.
