I was able to increase the frequency on a low-cost motherboard with a truncated power converter (Z68 Pro3 Gen3) by putting a strain on the drain and increasing the strain. Works well, there were no problems, and the temperature did not increase very much at all. Before that, if you were transcoding video with the highest quality settings, say from HD to DVD, it would take approximately 4-5 hours on the Q9650 (overclocked to 4MHz). Now, it only takes approximately 25 minutes! It would appear that the Lucid Virtu technology is producing results in this area. aida64 includes benchmarks for CPUs and memory, along with statistics gathered from a variety of platforms. So, the processor achieves top results across the board (when overclocked, of course), frequently outperforming other systems that are more productive and costly, including ones that have 6.8 cores. And finally, the games that were checked in. My performance slowed significantly in several areas before the previous Hitman (subjectively, agc did not measure). Now there is no letup in the pace. In general, somewhere around 2500K, well, I don't know what more to say other that it's good.
