They are cheap plastic but most are
I love the little flicker these lights give and it looks great on the pole where our house number is. It is nice and subtle which is what we wanted in a neighborhood that doesn't have street lights and values the night sky. We can see our driveway coming up but not be bothered by a bright light. I'm very pleased. I hope they last longer than I suspect they will because the plastic housing is pretty thing and I suspect, brittle.
