I had this not long ago but bought it because I needed to trace some electrical wires in a few spots and it hasn't disappointed yet. It works great. As mentioned earlier if you are only monitoring 1 wire you can connect the other (black) wire to ground with the main unit and remote control and the red wire to the wire under test and it will work. It was pretty accurate for me out to 50 feet, that's all I tested. Highly recommended for your power tool bag and I will definitely buy again. Well worth it at this price for the time it saved me.
