UPDATE: After 3 1/2 months I still like the mount but it does have a few downsides - DO NOT remove after initial installation. Even with a thorough cleaning in soapy water the product doesn't stay on the surface for more than 1 1/2 days (I use a window) - it's VERY difficult to remove initially which is GREAT! but it is meant to stay on the original surface (due to use I think) and not be removed. Unfortunately I had to throw this product away even though I bought another one for another car and will not be removing it from this car. I have an Otter for my iPhone 8+. I put a magnet point between the plastic case and the rubber. outside of the protective case, and NOTHING made the phone fall off the magnet. I didn't even see a huge hole in the pot in the dark. Cable holder on the back of the magnetic head (photo #2). I just took it off the windshield to put it on another car. Even with the lever up, it was so securely attached to the jar that it took me a spatula to break the seal. I use a plastic container lid to protect the seal (EXTREMELY sticky glue) so it doesn't stick to anything that might be damaged. DO NOT use on surfaces that may detach from the base! It will be damaged.
