Our 8 year old son is a big fan of the Lego Wii game Indiana Jones. Although my husband and I are also big fans of the films, we feel that they are not appropriate for him until he is 11 years old. That being said we were very happy we bought this DVD game for our son as it is clearly labeled as a 'family friendly' game for ages 8+ so we assumed the scenes from the film would be appropriate for 8 year olds would be suitable. You are not! It's actually a lot worse because the movie scenes are excerpts from the most violent and scary movie scenes (all the scenes where someone dies) with no context to understand them. When we first played the game, our son saw one man's head cut off, another blown to pieces by an airplane strut, another stabbed in the neck, and another crushed by a steamroller - all uncensored. Our son was horrified and we banned premium gaming until he was old enough to watch movies. The game itself was fun and everything works great with the DVD. What a pity they couldn't pick more appropriate scenes or at least properly name the game. This game should be rated for teenagers and older as these clips are extremely disturbing when viewed in isolation without the context of the full story.
