Review on Pair of Front Hood Gas Spring Shocks Struts for 2007-2011 Toyota Camry (6333) by Bill Snyder

The struts work in a 2008 Camry LE (and I think other Camrys have similar struts). The only difference is that they must be installed in reverse. The cylinder is mounted on the hood and the piston on the body. Otherwise they work just like the originals. You lift the hood and hold it up well. I would maybe deduct a quarter star as they aren't exactly the same, but the functionality is the same.
