    Very easy to replace (2007 Camry LE)

    I removed and installed both parts in 30 minutes including unboxing and watching videos. I used a piece of wood to support the hood while I worked. The hardest part was on the driver's side, but part of the problem was that I was working in a dark garage at night. Better lighting makes this task easier. I found that it was easier to lengthen and hook the strut body if I hooked the end into the hood first.

    Works in a 2008 Camry LE

    The struts work in a 2008 Camry LE (and I think other Camrys have similar struts). The only difference is that they must be installed in reverse. The cylinder is mounted on the hood and the piston on the body. Otherwise they work just like the originals. You lift the hood and hold it up well. I would maybe deduct a quarter star as they aren't exactly the same, but the functionality is the same.

    Difficult to install for spare parts

    Fairly easy to install; most people claim only 5-10 minutes. I had a VERY different experience. To attach them you need to switch the tape on each end of the post by prying it off with a screwdriver. I could do that with my old racks with no problem, but I really had problems with these. It took me several minutes to open the simplest connection of the new racks. The hardest thing ended up breaking and not opening. I called Revain who promptly sent me a new stand and even that stand took about…

    Ends are interchangeable

    Most of the reviews I have read on these Camry struts say they need to be installed upside down for a proper fit. The ends of these struts are unscrewable so you can swap them out if you want to leave the cylindrical end of the strut attached to the car body with the rod part attached to the hood. You will need a small flathead screwdriver to pry the clips open a bit. Be careful not to injure your hand or, even worse, your eye when attempting to remove these clips. *I recommend wearing gloves…
