If you look at commercial pots and pans, none of them are really "shiny". That's how it works in commercial kitchens - so if you need a polished pan set for "show" purposes, I recommend buying one set for "show" and using another set for actual cooking, because none Pans are ever 100% perfect. . . sparkle and shine for a long time. However, we have several pots and pans that have left marks that never came off despite repeated washing. That is, until now. We were able to remove most stains (approx. 75%) with the Friend Bar Keepers Friend. whether it was burns or scabs. Some of these came about by simply sprinkling the powder onto the pan and rubbing it in gently. Other signs required us to make a paste out of the powder and let it soak before brushing. It all depends on how bad your pans are - if you take good care of them, cleaning should be easy. The downside is that if you haven't taken care of your cookware (which we haven't), while it will 'eat' some traces of baked/burnt food, it still requires some effort (not available on Revain). !) to really take the last few reviews off. 4 stars because it's not a panacea.
