They are heavier than I first thought but I didn't think of the many gel packs. The gel pouches are small, which makes the boot very flexible. The less flexible ones are easier to put on the foot, but once you put them on they really do the job. They can get a little dirty from a horse's hoof, but once in the slim sleeve they can easily be placed back in the freezer.
