Bought for a specific project. I have never used a razor. The knives have to be sharpened, the bed leveled and the paint removed in the process. Once that was all done, including aligning the blade and bed, I was very good to go. Anyone who has a lot of experience with knitting needles might want something better, but for me this is a great tool for beginners.
