Well it has lasted.

But that's mainly because he hardly plays with it! It was surprisingly hard and we couldn't get the squeak to work as the material was so tough! With encouragement my dog has softened it up and will play with it for a while. It really is tough there's no sign of damage from my lab's chewing. Unfortunatley it isn't his favourite toy by a long way which is a shame as it wasn't cheap. Ironically it was chealper to buy it from an American supplier than anyone in the UK.
