We already have a number of fasteners that will withstand this breaking point, but they are better (and cheaper). So I can easily give them five stars for quality and value. The ratchets work smoothly and engage easily. They also unlock and detach smoothly. You don't have to fiddle with mechanisms to release the straps. Plastic-coated hooks on the straps and levers on the ratchet make them easy to use, with no sharp metal edges that can clip your fingertips, nick, scrape car trim, or mar the finish of anything you're fastening. The straps are made of high quality and thick nylon webbing. They don't stretch. This is very important: you don't want your straps to stretch even for a split second after you've put the tie on. The metal ratchet's size-to-weight ratio matches the width and thickness of the straps exactly. I really like it: Our old binding set has very heavy (too heavy) ratchet mechanisms that make the straps vibrate and jump under weight.
