After my original '98 Corolla LE key wouldn't start the car by accident, I searched several web resources and found that the problem might be ignition related. Lock cylinder with a key and decided to replace it. Beck Arnley 203-1765 my pick. The part was delivered to me in no time. YouTube videos show how to replace this cylinder. This is a simple procedure. Includes 4 screws and some gentle handling of the plastic casing around the base of the steering wheel. But (here's the trap part) - the first thing I noticed after installing the new cylinder was that I couldn't reset the "illuminated o-ring" around the lock with the key. cylinder more. The works cylinder had a groove for that glowing o-ring. So I had to hide it in the steering box (unfortunately I miss the illuminated ignition keyhole, especially useful in the dark). Otherwise the replacement has worked flawlessly so far. No more stuck keys! Like a factory setting. Great replacement, it would be "perfect" if they had the option to buy it with the option to install a lighted ring! (lost a star) BTW if you don't have keyless entry in your car you may also need to reinstall other locks to match the new keys that come with this part.
