It was fully or partially loaded (I don't know which) and it was great! Lighting candles with this lighter requires a bit of a learning curve compared to a standard gas lighter, but you get the idea that it's amazing. The problem is that I can't get it to charge after using the charge that came with it! Tried to connect to both the outlet and the laptop. Neither one nor the other worked. Nothing has happened. Except when I was messing around with the switch and button that gives me a flashing light, a steady light for a few seconds, and then it goes off again (see video). I left this thing plugged in for hours and never got even the slightest charge so haven't been able to use it since it died the first time. And of course this is not the article I am using. daily, so the 30-day guarantee has long since expired. I am very disappointed; I figured that was my choice to waste gas lighters on candles. I was very excited especially after using it straight out of the box only to be disappointed with the main benefit of this lighter.
