Very disappointing!

Binoculars received require collimation. This means that when looking at the planets, instead of a good sharp image, there was a double image effect. When I was about to purchase these binoculars, I noticed that others were complaining about the lack of collimation. I was hoping that my couple would not have this problem. unfortunately this was not the case. So I will be returning this binocular for a full refund. Very disappointing. A star. A few notes about this binocular. 1. They are very heavy. You need a POWERFUL tripod to view the night sky. I've tried mounting these binoculars on a lightweight budget tripod I have but to no avail. The binoculars were too heavy for the tripod locking mechanism and I could not stably observe the night sky. I then mounted these binoculars on a Manfrotto tripod. That helped. Therefore, a stable quality tripod is a must.2. These binoculars are not a substitute for a telescope. I bought these binoculars to view the moon and occasionally observe planets. I have telescopes that will provide the detail you most want to see when looking at Jupiter and Saturn. Let me just say that these binoculars don't give you the detail that some people hope to see. For example, you may be able to see the four moons of Jupiter, but not the stripes (or red spot) of Jupiter. You can see Saturn's shape, but you can't tell the stripes from the planet. Observing the moon should be fine (if it wasn't for the collimation issue).3. These binoculars offer few alternative uses. This is not a practical alternative to standard 12x42 binoculars. They are too heavy for bird watching. The lenses let through too much light to use it for observing or viewing distant objects during the day. These are disposable binoculars.
