GREAT LENS AT A VERY LOW PRICE

The macro function is particularly useful and easy to use, offering various zooms by simply zooming in or out. The wide-angle to portrait zoom range covers the usual needs of most of us and comes in a lightweight body that won't feel anchored. To do this, Sigma uses a tough plastic that can withstand a lot of damage, which hopefully your lens won't have to suffer. Some people miss the steel body metal lenses of the past, but I enjoy the convenience of today's lighter lenses. I find my Sigma 28-80 shots are sharp at all focal lengths and can zoom to letter size and even 11x14 with no problem. You can get a little more sharpness with an equivalent Nikon lens for a lot more money, but unless you blow your photos to poster size or money isn't an issue, I'd rather spend my money on extra equipment, maybe even an extra lens.

It's a cheap lens, but it's cheap and it's a lens
