Review on LG 34UM69G-B UltraWide Monitor: 34-Inch 2560X1080P, 75Hz, HD, Reduction by Danial Campbell

This is a first overview and will be updated in the future. My first impression of it is that it's absolutely huge, in a good way. I went from a 24 inch monitor to this 34 inch monitor and the difference was huge. I never thought I would find the monitor TOO bright but I have this one at 50% and it's too bright at night and perfect during the day. The screen has great colors and the speakers are quite passable (but invest in decent speakers, please). The monitor appears to be well assembled but contrary to the video reviews it does NOT have 2 screws holding it to the base it was an old build. It now has a screw instead (although it still holds up fine!). I would highly recommend this monitor for the price I paid ($204 on Black Friday 2017) and $280 (at the time of writing this article), still seems like a decent deal. A huge upgrade over the boring old 24 inch monitor. Cons: My 13 inch laptop looks pathetic now. If you do, you will forever look at laptop monitors with disdain. With a monitor this size, you CAN really see that 1080p isn't perfectly sharp. I couldn't tell the difference between good 1080 and good 4k on my 24" monitor (other than overly bright colors on newer 4k monitors) but on this one you can see the difference. However, it is not $500. 3 month update (March 2nd 2018): I am still blown away by this monitor. However, I have another disadvantage. THIS SCREEN IS TOO BRIGHT! I never thought in my life that I would have a screen that was too bright, but here I am, with a completely dark screen, and yet I would like it to be a little less bright at night. When you use this in a well-lit office, it's just great! Now I want 3 of these monitors so I have an almost solid display. But I'll just keep dreaming now.
