I bought this on a Black Friday sale and I really couldn't be happier with it, especially for the price. Excellent contrast, color and clarity. I switched from a 26 inch 1920 x 1200 16:10 monitor to this 21:9 1080 monitor and was concerned that I would see a drop in picture quality, but honestly it's not noticeable. If anything, picture quality has actually improved thanks to color and clarity in general. . My text actually looks sharper than ever on my previous monitor. While it's not a 120 or 144Hz monitor, going from 60 to 75Hz seems to have added a little more smoothness in certain situations. I drive this monitor with a GTX 970 and only noticed a minimal FPS drop in Fallout 4, which btw looks absolutely amazing on ultra-wide desktop. up to 75Hz in the Nvidia control panel. This monitor's swivel, tilt, and height-adjustable stand was the main reason I chose it over the newer version. Brightness and contrast are good and there is almost no glare. I had some concerns that this ultrawide is not a curved monitor, it seems that the outer edges of the screen could show differences in contrast or brightness depending on the viewing angle, but personally I don't see such an issue. The image quality is the same over the entire width of the screen. A small issue I've encountered is that the circuit board on the back of the monitor flexes slightly when plugging in the power cord or HDMI cable, but I've found this to be a common problem with many TVs and monitors. really nothing extraordinary. By the way, I originally thought that the panoramic effect of the ultra-wide lens would amaze me, and I was a little surprised. It's hard to explain, I guess, but the ultra-wide seemed like something natural that wasn't as consciously noticeable as I thought it would be. I had an increased sense of immersion, but it was subtle and a bit more subconscious. Playing Fallout 4 with the ultra wide mod the difference wasn't as obvious as I thought but there was a sense of naturalness or maybe I could say correctness that wasn't there before and is taken for granted . just be the way it should be all alone. Conversely, when playing large strategy games such as GalCiv III, the increase in the size of the playing field is very noticeable and is greatly appreciated. One final note: while the actual screen height of this monitor is the same as my 26-inch monitor, the excessive width and reduced bezel size gives the optical illusion that the 21:9 screen has a smaller screen height, when in reality it is is not the case. When you look at the screen, you feel like you've lost some of the vertical viewing area, when in fact you haven't. This phenomenon takes some getting used to. No dead pixels yet. It was a great purchase and upgrade. I would highly recommend this ultra wide 21:9 monitor to anyone. If your primary use is professional you can also use the 1440 but for general home office, FPS, RTS, MMO, RPG and 4X gaming this is definitely for you. If you can find the same or a similar one for $250 or less, you won't regret it.
