Review on LG 34UM69G-B UltraWide Monitor: 34-Inch 2560X1080P, 75Hz, HD, Reduction by Zach Amin

Revainrating 4 out of 5

The untold truth about split screen. Along with some good stuff.

So on first use this monitor is everything I wanted. However, I had some guesses and I don't want the next player to repeat the same mistake. I'm crazy about two 24" monitors. They were good monitors and I still have them. I plan to continue using them elsewhere. I mention this because moving to this monitor meant a real estate downgrade. and held it still for a lateral moment. No increase, no decrease. Only lateral movement. I assumed from my research that split screen would reserve part of the screen for a browser window or whatever, but if you're playing a game , it doesn't use the same rules and uses the entire screen even if the game doesn't support it. I've tried other window modes which are annoying at best. Just wanted to make sure other players know this if they're in the ultra wide Dip monitor I used a much smaller monitor on the side for browsing the web while gaming It's not bad I have just didn't find it when doing my research on this monitor and I feel like it should be clearly stated somewhere. Now. the good things The two things you don't see in the description are the headphone stand on the back of the monitor. If you can reach it, it's a really good place to hang your headphones. Secondly, if you connect via HDMI, you can receive the sound through the monitor. I didn't know it had built in speakers and they aren't bad but they sound shallow and not very good for music. I only use them when I want my son or wife to hear something on my computer as the only other outlet I have is headphones. To update. something that worries me a little. There is a very small plastic frame on the top and sides. Just like you would see on a frameless display. However, the entire screen behind it is not used. I added an image so you can see. About 3/8 inch or about 1 cm at the top and on each side is unused. I would say that 98% of the time I don't care or I don't notice. The number one reason I mention this is because when I first noticed it I thought I had mixed up my resolution and was just using the screen incorrectly. To be honest, their promotional image also shows this as a black space, so the product fits the ad.
