Don't do it. Believe me, buy another one. Over the years I've had great success using this type of valve to keep water tanks full. I have installed 3 similar valves on 3 other tanks and this is the only valve that has ever failed me. Even when the float is fully raised, it still lets water through. The first time this happened I thought I misadjusted the float so I fixed it and it worked. Once. The next time I filled the trash can with it, it failed again. Even when the float was fully submerged it couldn't keep the valve closed and flooded my cave. I'm still trying to dry the carpet after 3 days. There is also no problem with the pressure, as I have 3 similar valves from other manufacturers that have never leaked at the same pressure. I do not understand it. Do yourself a favor and get better.
