Must be in my fish cave!.

I use this product to top up my 11 aquariums, it saves me having to carry and store water to fill the tanks weekly. What I had an issue with was that it didn't fit the rim of my large tanks (30-90g) so I had to modify the mount to fit the rim, also I love this complete package and would recommend it to anyone who has as many tanks as I have a lot, thank you and look forward to future orders from me. Long screws make it unusable

Not well thought out. I have a fairly standard sized tank and it won't fit because the bolts are too long. I tried emailing the sender to see if there are shorter screws to make it more functional but got no response. My return period has now expired. I will only spend a bit more for an ATO with electronic eyes for safety reasons. This will flood if not properly secured. It may work for you but not for me.

Use a ball valve with this product

As other reviews have said the valve still leaks when the tank is full so use a ball valve consistent with this product and use only temporarily open for filling. I've had my valve for a year now and the back of the bracket broke off and the float was all the way into my tank. If I hadn't used a ball valve, my living room would have flooded. I still give it three stars because it's nice to start filling the tank and not have to worry about manually turning off the water for hours after the tank

Pros
  • Great for a small home
Cons
  • Not all will fit

Bad valve design flooded the room

Don't do it. Believe me, buy another one. Over the years I've had great success using this type of valve to keep water tanks full. I have installed 3 similar valves on 3 other tanks and this is the only valve that has ever failed me. Even when the float is fully raised, it still lets water through. The first time this happened I thought I misadjusted the float so I fixed it and it worked. Once. The next time I filled the trash can with it, it failed again. Even when the float was fully…

Works after some "pacing "

I have an exotic plant tank that needs a 2 inch water level all the time. I've tried several of these (all seem to be based on the same basic design) and found them quite confusing, both in terms of compatible tubing size and performance. There are many ways to increase or decrease the size of the hose, so I won't go into detail. In terms of performance, however, I haven't found one that didn't have a leak at the junction of the hose with the float. However, after some trial and error, I found…

Works well with the right pressure.

Due to the amount of negative feedback on these little floats, I wanted to write a review. (Freshwater setup) In the pics above you can see where I used the blue hose set and bought extra hoses in case I messed up. I ran a pipe (hidden) along the shelf and added a ball valve to shut off the water in the tank. Under the sink I used two sets of ice makers with faucets. One for hot, one for cold. This equalizes the desired temperature in the tank. The valves on the line allow me to regulate the…
