As other reviews have said the valve still leaks when the tank is full so use a ball valve consistent with this product and use only temporarily open for filling. I've had my valve for a year now and the back of the bracket broke off and the float was all the way into my tank. If I hadn't used a ball valve, my living room would have flooded. I still give it three stars because it's nice to start filling the tank and not have to worry about manually turning off the water for hours after the tank is full.
