These shelf supports do the job pretty well - to support a shelf in the closet, with the ability to hang a clothes rail and lots of little hooks for ties, belts, scarves and the like. However, I decided to use it to set up a shelf in my human cave and use the built in wire gathering hooks to add some organization to the wire spaghetti box. After I hung a powerful transformer on one of the hooks, it broke immediately. The transformer weighed about 3 pounds so I would give each of the hooks a one pound limit. However, it's a pretty handy mount to have on hand. It's durable and lightweight. The hooks I broke are for light clothing, not heavy transformers, so keep that in mind when using them for any application. They are designed for a closet, not a garage.
