Review on Counter Assault Bear Container Cubic by Tarrance Man

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Heavy but well preserved and working.

As with all gear, there's a battle between weight, cost and performance. choose 2. If you can handle the weight hit, this is the best option. I did a pretty thorough search and couldn't find a trail or park that didn't accept this model. If an accepted list exists, it is in the list. If there's a "NO" list, it's not there. Even the carbon fiber models have a history of failures, but I couldn't find one for this can. Everyone knows the stories of broken bags and problems with BV in attics and elsewhere. In terms of size, there are two large canisters, both made from crazy ideas. I hired an Expedition and it's a fantastic bench. 6 times more expensive than it should be. WI is also not listed as approved in all park directories. I suppose a ranger would be okay with that, but I don't want it to become a hassle. The price is right. Same price as the bv 500 and some wild ideas. It fit my mariposa mesh but was a bit uncomfortable. Fits well in my Osprey boat. Enough space for 4-5 days/two people if properly packed. On the last trip we had (2) 3.5 days and 1.5 liters of vodka here with no problems. So if you have the money, save a pound in your backpack and go for carbon fiber. For the rest of us maybe.
