Review on Injen Technology RD1964BLK Division Intake by John Pineda

Revainrating 3 out of 5

Injen CAI - for those with 1.6L

I have a '97 Nissan 200sx with a 1.6L engine. This intake will NOT fit the 1.6 liter engine (GA16DE) as Revain claims (at least at the time of my purchase). The instructions say only 2.0 liters. However, it can be tuned to work with your 1.6 liter engine if you're willing to put in the extra effort. For example, cut off about 2 inches from one of the inlet pipes. The worst thing about this product is the instructions. The images are black and white and too dark to be useful. The written instructions read as if they were translated by Google and there is very little detail. If you have to rely on instructions, don't buy this until you find the best ones on the Nissan forums. Oh, the instructions recommend removing the bumper. Instead I removed the tire and had no access issues. And if you don't know a better way, you'll have to drill new holes in one piece to mount your MAF. Other fun things to do include hooking up an extension cord to my air temp sensor and reconnecting hose connections. I'm not an experienced mechanic so it took about 6 hours. As I said, the biggest challenge was figuring out how everything fits. I really didn't want to cut the intake pipe and have been trying to find a better way for a while. That's probably 1-2 hours of work for a 2.0 liter engine. Much luck.
