Stay away, limited flow will break your stove

I change the filter every two months. I used to buy expensive name brand allergy filters at the hardware store and it cost me $90 a year. They worked great but were expensive. I decided to try them since they were 1/3 the price. A few months after purchase, my oven fan died. It's an old oven, but not that old. We replaced it with a conventional fan. A few months later he began a short cycle and eventually died. I replaced it with a factory engine. A few months later, a short cycle began. Two different HVAC companies have indicated that airflow is limited and both have suggested installing an additional return line. They both said it wouldn't be a filter as it's MERV 8 and will provide enough flow. We installed a new one. A few weeks later the engine completely died and the motherboard overheated and died. At this point, several HVAC companies have recommended a new furnace since it can be so many things. And the board and blower cost almost like a new oven. A month after installing the new oven, she started short cycles. Then I found some reviews here that said the filters have terrible airflow and figured it all out. I installed a MERV 11 filter from another company and we have a significant increase in airflow. With the new NP MERV 8 filter, it took 1 hour and 15 minutes to raise the temperature in the home by 4 degrees Fahrenheit. With an allergy filter from another brand MERV 11 it takes about 20 minutes at the same outside temperature. Eventually, buying these filters instead of brand name filters to save $60 a year was costing me over $5,000 on furnace repairs.
