I'm 72 years old, I can cook and I don't need all the drama this thermometer has to offer. Works perfectly. The instructions are not up to date, but just about adequate. Too many and too small buttons to press. Accidentally turned on the alarm and then couldn't figure out how to turn it off. I worried about every 30 seconds for five minutes until I figured out how to turn it off. You don't need a thermometer to tell me the optimal temperature for five or six types of meat. I just need a simple device that will show the internal temperature of the meat I have in the oven.
