Review on KYOKU Daimyo Damascus Utility Japanese by Daniela Velasquez

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Very good for medium value

Well made knife. I didn't know what to expect from a $50 knife but was surprised at how clean it looked. Seems to last a long time. I consider it an average price point for a Japanese knife (oops. Chinese knife!). I have more expensive Japanese knives but this one seems to be of decent quality so I can't help but demote it by "edit" below. For the price you can't go wrong compared to what you get. Changed to 4 stars! To edit. I just noticed that these knives are made in China. Too bad it is not mentioned on this page. Found out on the Santoku knife site. =1571565118&sourceid=mozilla-search&sr=8-4

Pros
  • SUPERIOR SHARPNESS - A ruthlessly sharp, scalpel-like edge polished to a mirror finish by skilled artisans on both sides at an angle of 8-12° using the traditional 3-step Honbazuke method; Nitrogen cooled for maximum hardness, flexibility and corrosion resistance.
Cons
  • So far so good
