Description of KYOKU Daimyo Damascus Utility Japanese

VG-10 JAPANESE SUPER STEEL - Manufactured with ultra-sharp VG-10 Japanese Damascus steel cutting core at HRC 58-60 hardness, this 6 in. crafted culinary chef comes with unrivaled performance and incredible edge retention; cobalt added VG-10 steel outperforms AUS-10 steel in durability and is easier to sharpen as cobalt enhance the other alloying elements. ERGONOMIC & WELL-BALANCED - The 6" utility knife is our most versatile knife. If you only get one knife, this should be it. The gorgeous, hammer-beaten herringbone pattern on the base of the tang not only shows off the stunning craftsmanship but also prevents food from sticking to the blade, making it practical for everyday use. ULTIMATELY DURABLE HANDLE - The meticulously constructed G10 handle has gone through special treatment, making it extremely impervious to heat, moisture, cold with military grade strength and life-long sturdiness. SUPERIOR SHARPNESS - Ruthlessly sharp scalpel-like edge is handcrafted by seasoned artisans to a mirror polish at 8-12° double side using the traditional 3-step Honbazuke method; Nitrogen cooled for ultimate hardness, flexibility and corrosion resistance performance. LIFETIME WARRANTY - No premium knife is complete without a lifetime warranty; our masterpiece knife is fully covered for life, free exchange or return for life if the item is defective.

super sharp. easy to hold!

Great knife, very handy for me! It takes no effort to cut through the thickness of the toughest meat! I haven't been the strongest since I was 70 and this granny rivals The Butcher's best! 💪🏻😎🤩

Pros
  • Hands free
Cons
  • Zero

Wow! I mean WOW! in all-purpose knife

What a cool knife. I almost want to hold it in my hands while reading, it's so beautiful. Too bad I bought it a long time ago. Fits perfectly in the hand, just the right weight, I like it very much. I'm always looking for things to cut. All of the ingredients for the salad are a little smaller than they should be, but hey, I had fun! Buy it! It's worth every penny.

Pros
  • Wide range
Cons
  • Available for exchange

A single sharp edge is more difficult to clean

I bought two of these knives for use in the kitchen at our home. I carry a single blade folding knife and it seems to be holding the blade well. Both knives need to be sharpened more often to make things easier for my wife in the kitchen. I use a dual grit Japanese wet stone to sharpen all my knives and a leather belt to sharpen and polish the blade.

Pros
  • Delivery was very quick
Cons
  • Crumpled

Counterfeit from China

Most major announcements such as imported Japanese VG10 steel are missing from the Kyoku website. But at Amazon I think everything is fine? Also, I have real damask knives and this is not one of them. However, the knife is comfortable to use, cuts well and is well balanced. The problem is that you can buy a professional non-damascus knife for the same price and own the "real deal". does it scratch easily? I feel excluded.

Pros
  • Everything is fine!
Cons
  • Expensive

KYOKU is good in the Cutlery & Knife Accessories category

Let me start by saying that I'm a knife snob. I have tried many kitchen knives in my life. I brought a lot with me and am a big fan of Wüsthof knives. But KYOKU knives are fun! Sharp, retains sharpness and sharpness, fits the hand very well, balanced and inexpensive. You can't go wrong with these knives. My husband and I cook for our extended family at least twice a day. Therefore, we use these knives regularly. I brought different designs and they are all the same quality. Get some!

Pros
  • Expensive but decent
Cons
  • Nothing

Very good for average price

Nicely made knife. I didn't know what to expect from a $50 knife but was surprised at how clean it looked. Seems to last a long time. I consider it an average price point for a Japanese knife (oops. Chinese knife!). I have more expensive Japanese knives but this one seems to be of decent quality so I can't help but demote it by "edit" below. For the price you can't go wrong compared to what you get. Changed to 4 stars! To edit. I just noticed that these knives are made in China. Too bad it is…

Pros
  • Availability
Cons
  • I have nothing I don't like, everything is fine
