Review on OBDSTAR X-200 X200 Pro Automotive Code Reader Diagnostic Scan Tool Car Scanner with A and B Configuration, Oil Reset, OBD Software EPB, and Card Reader by Scott Hall

This is not a product review, just information intended to help potential buyers make a purchasing decision. As mentioned, the device serves three main functions; EPB (57 models), OBDII (automatic plus five manually selectable standards) and Oil/Service Reset (71 models). Models and years within a specific make do not include everything so be aware that even if the make is listed it may not fit a specific model/year. There are too many combinations here to list, but what's listed on the Revain page and the manufacturer's website is incomplete and confusing. This also refers to "manual control" for functions such as TPMS, timing belt, etc. an information display to provide instructions for the user to run that function as per the manufacturer's requirements (the scanner doesn't seem to actually communicate and change direct setting of the car for the so-called manual control). Probably doesn't offer any information that can't be found easily online, so if a manual reset will do, it's probably not a good buy. The manufacturer is believed to provide device software updates free of charge, so expect features and compatibility to change. over time, depending on which version is used or discussed. This process has not been tested or evaluated in any way. Therefore, the information provided in the overviews may be out of date due to software versions yet to be implemented. The instruction manual is very basic, but the functions are intuitive enough to be understood easily enough. Note that one minor annoyance is that returning to a page often requires pressing ENTER instead of ESC, but this is inconsistent. Specially for me and for this review the scanner I bought (hardware 5.04, software 2.00) needed to urgently reset the service light on my 2012 Maserati GT and it was done successfully. Unlike other Maserati owners, the lights can also be dimmed by setting the car's clock to the time/year prior to that which triggered the service reminder. The only downside is that the day of the week may not be correct.
